Professor Lincoln Edwards, President of Northern Caribbean University (NCU), offered scholarships to 100 prospective students at the Fifth Inter-American Division (IAD) of Seventh-day Adventists’s Pathfinder Camporee.
The announcement was made to over 11,000 excited campers from over 24 unions, 50 countries and 150 conferences who gathered at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium in Jamaica April 4-8, 2023. President Lincoln announced NCU’s decision to award scholarships valued at 50% towards the first-year tuition of the first 100 campers who applied for an undergraduate programme.
Several students, who secured their scholarships, expressed gratitude and excitement for the support in beginning their academic journey at NCU.
The institution offers more than 100 programmes in the fields of Information and Technology, Business Management, Allied Health and Nursing, Communications and many more. English as a Second Language (ESL) is also available to non-English speakers who are interested in learning the English language and being immersed in Jamaican culture.
The 5th staging of the IAD Pathfinder Camporee, under the theme Pathfinders in Mission, was hosted in Jamaica, making history as the first English speaking country to do so.

The five-day event was heavily supported by the Government of Jamaica and was attended by notable leaders including the Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen and Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange, whose participation confirmed the government's commitment to developing young minds and building capable leaders.
Track Superstar, Usain Bolt, also made an appearance. The Olympian, whose mother is a member of the SDA community, encouraged youngsters to work hard and to believe in their dreams. He was presented with the IAD outstanding presidential golden award medal.
The event was brought to a close on April 8th and it was declared a huge success as a total of 120 souls were baptized and many more lives were impacted positively by the messages, the fellowship and the spiritually charged atmosphere.
