Spanish Town, St. Catherine – September 12 2025 —
Hundreds of young people across St. Catherine and other parishes within the conference are expected to gather this weekend as the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Central Jamaica Conference, in collaboration with the Adventist Youth Federations of St. Catherine, launches its highly anticipated “Proclamations of Hope” Youth Empowerment Series (Y.E.S.).
The launch event is set for Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at the Family of God Seventh-day Adventist Church in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. For those unable to attend in person, the launch will be streamed live on the Central Jamaica Conference’s social media platforms @CJCSDA, expanding its reach beyond Spanish Town.
Organisers say the initiative is designed to inspire and equip young people with spiritual grounding, leadership skills, and a renewed sense of purpose in their communities. “This launch marks an important step in creating a sustainable program that brings hope and spiritual empowerment to our youth,” a Central Jamaica Conference representative said.
The launch will feature keynote speaker Pastor Jermaine Johnson, known for his energetic preaching style and passion for youth empowerment. Special presentations will also be delivered by Pastor Dwayne Scott, youth director of CJC and Pastor Harrone Guthrie, co-evangelist, both of whom bring years of experience in youth ministry and the community. Leaders of the Adventist Church in Jamaica and the Central Jamaica Conference, along with civic leaders across Jamaica, will also be in attendance and will bring greetings as special guests, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the church and the wider community.
