The Central Jamaica Conference is preparing to launch an initiative that is expected to engage all members of the church for evangelism, strengthen weak churches and to plant new churches in unentered areas. The initiative is dubbed, “Evangelism Now”.
In a memo addressed to all Pastors, Conference President Levi Johnson outlined his intention and the various components of the initiative. According to Pastor Johnson, we are preparing to launch “one of the most inspired, inspirational and exciting evangelistic initiatives undertaken by Central Jamaica Conference in recent times.”
He then went on to outline the three components that will comprise the initiative. These include 1) a drive to mobilize and equip every member for evangelism; 2) Local Church Resuscitation Initiative (Reviving & Strengthening Weak congregations) and 3) A Church Planting Initiative (a Vigorous & Intensive working of the Field and Planting of Churches in New & Un-entered Areas).
Through these initiatives, Pastor Johnson expressed that he is expecting to see explosive growth in evangelism in CJC. The intended launch date for Evangelism Now, is August 4, 2018, when most of the recently announced transfers and appointments of district pastors will take effect.
