The Central Jamaica Conference’s Executive Committee has voted to appoint Pastor Kevin Danvers as its new Executive Secretary, with effect from January 1, 2017.
Pastor Danvers’ appointment became necessary consequent on the retirement of Pastor Ronnie Henry, current Executive Secretary, with effect from January 1, 2017. Pastor Henry has served in that position for almost six (6) years.
Pastor Kevin Danvers previously served as Ministerial Secretary, Conservation Coordinator and Assistant to the President with responsibility for the areas of Evangelism and Leadership.
According to Pastor Everett Brown, President of the Jamaica Union, “the hallmark of any worker in the church is service—service to God and to your fellowmen.” Pastor Brown, along with the other two Administrators of the Jamaica Union (JAMU), was present at the meeting where Danvers was being congratulated on his new assignment. “I pray that you will humble yourself as you serve in this capacity”, Brown continued.
Pastor Merick Walker, Executive Secretary of JAMU, also shared words of congratulations. He said that “we look forward, through you (Danvers) to continue the good relationship we have with CJC.”
