The prayer ministries department of the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists now has a bus, thanks to sacrificial contributions from Ruth Walcott,Prayer Ministries Coordinator, and other entities.
The 15 seater mini-bus was dedicated on Sabbath, August 17, 2019, and began operations the that same month.
Ruth, says this gift will spearhead the department’s ‘Prayer Bus Ministry’. She outlined that the prayer ministries department is a very active one, and receives many requests for church and community impacts, which were very costly for the ministry to fulfill.
“I realized that in order to be effective, go to more places and reach more people we needed a bus for the prayer ministry,” said Ruth.
The bus is to be used to transport prayer teams to and from various prayer assignments throughout the Central Jamaica Conference.
Ruth says she is convicted that this bus has transformed the way the department does prayer ministry, as she recalled her very first encounter as a passenger on the prayer bus.
“We were parked in a section of the Mandeville community waiting on other members of the team to arrive, when a lady upon seeing the writing -Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh Day Adventists Prayer Ministries on the bus, walked over and asked us to pray for her, because she was not feeling well. We prayed for her and that day the Lord affirmed His purpose for prayer on wheels,” said Ruth.
Already the bus has been used by the prayer ministries department to impact schools, churches, communities and everywhere persons can be found through the power of prayer.
