Fellow-workers of Christ
I greet you with a heart full of joy, cheer, and goodwill. I am thankful to God for His keeping and care in my family, the worker force of Central Jamaica Conference, and the entire membership in the 220 congregations in our territory.
Equal to the struggles we faced were the victories we had, and the praises we give to God for His presence, support, guidance, and the overall multiplied blessings we have received in 2019.
We recall, with mixed feelings, the passing of loved ones; we rejoice for the, approximately 2,000 new members who have joined the family of God.
As a Conference, we have many Memorable Moments in 2019. I will list five of such and I invite you, from your perspective, to expand the list:
1.The opening of two Life Hope Centres – Mandeville and Portmore
2.The planting of six Strategic Mission Centres in three major towns in our territory
3.The gift of a Pharmacy at the H. S. Walters Health Centre – Spanish Town
4.The excellent passes in external exams in all our schools
5.The consistent support of our local churches
As the year closes, and we stand on the threshold of 2020, the Administration is resolute that the mission of Christ will be stamped in all we do. I implore the leadership in all our congregations to make each church a mission centre for Christ and for humanity. Let us take the gospel outside of the walls of our churches to the streets and homes of everyone. Let us pray - weep between the porch and the altar, for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to empower us to do our part to finish this work. We will continue the thrust for Total Member Involvement using your special gifts to God’s glory.
God is anxious to lead His people to great things. Will you avail yourself?
During this festive season, spend time with family, bond and build your relationship with each other, and help the less fortunate. The material things will last a little beyond the season, but our families are for eternity.
May 2020 be a banner year for you and your family.
