Held at May Pen High School, the conference brought together approximately 100 women and six men representing 24 districts across the parish. The event aimed to strengthen women spiritually, develop leadership capacity, and encourage participants to fully embrace their God-given calling and purpose.
Moderated by Elder Sharon Allen, the day’s programme combined worship, practical teaching, fellowship, and engagement activities tailored to address the holistic needs of women.

Delivering the devotional charge, Elder Josein Baker challenged attendees to carefully examine their divine calling as wives, mothers, sisters, and children of God. She encouraged women to reflect on whether their desires align with God’s purpose for their lives and emphasized that unforgiveness often hinders individuals from fully realizing their God-given capabilities and potential.

The main platform presentation was led by Dr. Joan Lamle, who addressed the topic of honouring God through healthy living. Her presentation offered practical guidance on building energy, managing menopause, and addressing various women’s health concerns. She encouraged attendees to prioritize their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Participants also engaged in breakout sessions that focused on parenting, digital evangelism, and career advancement. Pastor Horace Wilson led the session “Parenting in Today’s World,” where participants received practical guidance rooted in biblical principles, healthy boundaries, and supportive parenting practices.
The digital evangelism session, facilitated by Pastor Harrone Guthrie and Sister Chantell Guthrie, empowered women to use platforms such as WhatsApp for ministry and outreach. They emphasised the importance of capturing audience attention within the first few seconds of engagement online and making use of the tools that they already have in their hands.
Meanwhile, Dr. Heather Fletcher led discussions on purpose, relationships, and personal growth during the “Advancing with Purpose: Career and Calling” session, which attendees described as open, relevant, and impactful.
The conference also featured interactive activities including icebreakers, product displays and sampling, prizes and giveaways, a massage station for relaxation and wellness, and a dress showcase led by Sister Kadie Cabellero. Her presentation offered practical advice on dressing confidently and modestly for various occasions while helping women understand proper clothing fit and style choices. The session concluded with the distribution of complimentary clothing gifts from her store.
Special recognition was given to 10 women who were pinned as early-bird participants, while leaders and guest presenters were also acknowledged for their contribution to the event. Care packages, sanitary kits, books, and clothing items were distributed to attendees throughout the day.
Janet Rowe-Elson, Parish Coordinator, described the conference as a meaningful experience for Clarendon.
“This conference meant a lot for the parish of Clarendon. It showed what we can do when we work together. The support was strong, and the impact was clear in how the women responded and participated,” she said.

Women’s Ministries Director, Mrs Rox-Anne McKoy-Chambers also reflected on the significance of the initiative.
“As a department, we desired to have closer interaction with the women of Clarendon, especially those without a vibrant Women’s Ministries presence. We are truly grateful to God for Sis. Elison Rowe and her team for bringing together women from over 24 districts, along with support from other parishes. It was a truly inspiring experience, and we pray God’s continued blessings on everyone involved,” she stated.
